First Step
Today the development of the project has officially started. After some hours spent searching for free assets that we could use, we identified the ones that would fulfill our needs for early development and testing.
Between yesterday and today, the following points were developed (by chronological order):
- An early version of the pool table was added, being a rectangular arena, with 4 walls, and a plane under it, serving as a floor, with a metallic texture on top of it.
- Using a free asset of pool balls, we changed their size so they would have some viewable proportion in relation to the pool table. A full set of pool balls were spread on a small area of the table and a rigid body property was applied to all.
- A drivable car asset was added to the scene, with all the properties it needs to be drivable. The driving scripts came with the car and unity default assets.
- The main camera was altered by script to serve as a third-person view of the car while it is driven on the arena and collides with the balls.
